What’s in my bag?! Part 2
Woohoo! Welcome to PART TWO of what’s in my bag!! Last week Carli went through her essentials for a show day/rehearsal day, and then her gym bag - today I’ll go through what I bring with me to set (as a Producer) and thennnnn what I bring with me to a Musical Theatre rehearsal (cause it’s fun and I miss rehearsals!).
On Set (Producing)
First i’ll just note that this list will be pretty much identical for Producing and Directing - there’s not too much difference for me for what I would/wouldn’t bring for either! Except maybe I wouldn’t bother bringing a clapper board if I’m Directing, lol.
My iPad and Apple pencil (the company I work for has won awards for their paperless green initiatives, so where possible I have everything on my iPad instead of being printed).
My Laptop
My watch
A clapper board and pen
WATER!!! (and a spare liter in my car for the drive home in case there’s a lot going on and filling my water bottle falls off my to do list!)
Sunglasses (not polarized, otherwise you can’t see the monitor screen!)
Snacks (and spare snacks for the crew if catering isn’t needed)
A spare jacket (incase a location or two are super cold)
A hair brush and deodorant (just incaseies!)
Cute/bold earrings (cause I’m just a girl) and you need a fun statement on set.
Musical Theatre Rehearsal
Musical Theatre rehearsals are easily one of my favourite places to be. They can range from 3 hours to 8 hours +, but they roughly all consist of the following:
A Water bottle, or sometimes three on longer days (two for water (one for each side of the stage, or one in the wings and one in the main auditorium area), and one for multivitamin tablets throughout the day..!)
Singers Spray (I have this one, but unfortunately you can’t get it in Australia).
A cosy jumper I can take on and off pending weather.
My script and a few pens as spare.
My iPad with the script and any other needed documents (like schedules) already loaded.
Snacks (like protein balls, grapes, bluey snacks (tehe) and a Lenny & Larry protein cookie (cause 460 calories in one cookie is SO convenient!)).
Lunch (something like protein pasta and pesto with veggies and veggie sausages - yum!).
A metal straw for the soy iced coffee I’m sure to buy after lunch, as well as the one I likely arrive with.
Spare socks cause I’m from Queensland and will absolutely take my shoes off at one point.
Wet wipes to clean my face or feel fresh throughout the day.
Character shoes, pending how close we are to show day.
Hair brush, deodorant, and moisturizer(!!!!) It’s a sad day when I forget moisturizer).
I think that’s the main things!! A phone charger is also super helpful now that my phone battery gets so low so fast (grrr!). I hope your weekend is absolutely bliss - do something fun just for you!
We’re SO excited that Christmas is less than 7 weeks away - enjoy the lead up (or avoid it as best you can if it’s not your thing!) Chat soon!
